Our Vision
Aletheia College Park
Our Mission
Building a community whose Truth & Treasure is Jesus Christ.
Our Vision
To engage the world with the good news, cultivate disciples of Christ, and labor for our city's restoration – all to the glory of Jesus.
Jesus has done everything it takes to make this vision possible. His death on the cross reconciled us to God, and he empowers us to carry his good news into every corner of College Park and beyond. He put his resurrection life in us so that we would have the love required to build his community. To that end, we gather together as a Christ-treasuring people committed to seeing lives and neighborhoods transformed by the gospel.
Who We Are
Five Distinctives
As a church, we grow in these distinctives through Sunday worship gatherings, small group Bible studies, and intentional discipleship relationships.
A Truth That Transforms
Nothing shapes us more than the regular, Spirit-filled teaching of God's life-changing truth from the Bible. Scripture is not merely information to be learned — it is the living word of God that renews minds, convicts hearts, and redirects lives. As we look into God's word together, each book shapes us. We believe that when a church is anchored in biblical truth, taught faithfully and applied courageously, that truth will transform individuals, families, and entire communities from the inside out.
A Treasure That Captivates
Jesus Christ is the supreme treasure of the universe, and knowing him surpasses everything the world offers. We are a people captivated by his beauty, his grace, and his glory. When Jesus becomes our greatest treasure, every other desire finds its proper place. We long for every person in our church and in our city to see and savor the surpassing worth of Christ — to count everything else as loss compared to the infinite gain of knowing him.
A Community That Displays Christ
When the church follows Christ in his path of sacrificial love, it puts the gospel on display for the world to see. We are eager to cultivate a community that reflects Jesus — not in polished perfection, but in honest fellowship, mutual accountability, and genuine care for one another. We build one another up, bear one another's burdens, and call each other to faithfulness so that, together, we become a living portrait of Christ's love in College Park.
A Gospel Worthy of Sharing
The gospel that saved us is the same gospel the world desperately needs. We believe every Christian is called to be a witness — not just within the walls of a church building, but in dorm rooms, offices, neighborhoods, and coffee shops across College Park and beyond. As we have studied and prayed the word of God, it has become increasingly clear that this world is not our home — this world is our mission field. That conviction shapes everything we do, from Sunday worship to everyday conversations.
A Heart Longing for Restoration
The name Aletheia means truth, and truth has the power to restore what is broken. We carry a deep longing to see God restore lives shattered by sin, relationships fractured by hurt, and communities weakened by neglect. We don't simply wait for restoration — we labor for it. Through acts of mercy, faithful presence, and the proclamation of the gospel, we work alongside God as he makes all things new in College Park and in the world beyond.
