Apologetics isn’t about saying sorry for your faith but comes from the Greek ‘apologia’ meaning a reasoned defense. It seeks to explore popular questions like “If God is good why is there so much suffering?” and “How can you be a Christian and a scientist?” and “Is the Bible reliable?”. In today’s secular society the need for answers to these questions and others is more important than ever. We are starting an apologetics group that aims to equip those new and old to the subject and then go on to witnessing at the UMD campus.
Apologetics 101 is a primer, especially for those new to the subject (or a reminder for the rusty!). Each session will feature a talk about 20 to 40 mins in length followed by 20 to 40 mins of group discussion.
